Shagreen, the richly textured hide of a stingray - distinguished by round, nodule-like patterns, often sparkling and vibrant - has symbolised the pinnacle of sophistication and luxury for many centuries. The exotic skin first made its appearance on the hilts of Japanese swords during the Middle Ages. We use the same pelts over and over again, which were sourced ethically, to create moulds to cast our Ragged Shagreen panels. We have always loved the aesthetics and luxury of shagreen, but with sustainability at our core, we are proud to have created such a beautiful, yet sustainable, way to create the shagreen effect. A celebration of simple form.
